Your child's safety and security is of utmost importance. We undertake the most rigorous verification of professional references, and all our staff have been cleared through Ofsted and the Criminal Records Bureau. Little Acorns holds a database of adults authorised by each parent to collect their child which is strictly adhered to. The building security measures include CCTV controlled door entry/exit and coded vehicle barrier systems.

Teresa Stear – Owner/Manager

  • Playing And Learning to Socialise co-ordinator (PALS)

With 25 years of Childcare experience, 22 of which at management level, Teresa is well versed with the responsibilities of the daily administration whilst adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Little Acorns ensuring compliance with the Children Act and Health and Safety legislation, all within the requirements and guidelines laid down by Ofsted. Teresa is responsible for ensuring effective staff recruitment and supervision and is the Child Protection Officer.

Natasha Peroulis – Deputy Manger

As an experienced Deputy Manager Natasha has the understanding and skills to support Teresa in the daily administration of Little Acorns. Natasha is passionate about high quality care and has therefore attended many courses attached to the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), building on her already intensive knowledge.

Hayley Pitt – Baby Room Supervisor

  • NVQ in Childcare Level 3 – completing at present
  • Managing Children’s Behaviour
  • First Aid in Childcare
  • Level 2 Award in Food Safety

After 3 years of working with children Hayley has decided to study NVQ Level 3 in Childcare so becoming recognised for her invaluable work and experience in day nurseries. Hayley works in a caring environment to enable each child to grow and develop within their own potential.

Omobolaji Bolaji – Nursery Teacher

  • St Mary’s College – Qualified Teacher Status studying at present
  • BTEC Advance in Childcare Studies
  • First Aid for Babies and Children
  • Special Needs Awareness & Good Practice
  • Food Hygiene Certificate

Bolaji will complete her Education & Employment Degree in June 2009 and will bring an exciting new dynamic as a Qualified Teacher, to the already highly qualified and experienced team. Bolaji first started working in childcare in 2000 and most enjoys watching the children explore and so develop in all areas of learning.

Una Shehu – Nursery Chef

  • NVQ Catering & Hospitality Level 1
  • NVQ Professional Cookery Level 2; completing June 2009
  • NVQ Level 2 award in Food Hygiene
  • NVQ Level 2 award in Health & Safety

We are very fortunate to have Una within our team as she is not just a cook but is a Qualified Chef. Una studied Catering & Hospitality and Professional Cookery at college and has an in-depth knowledge of all areas of catering from cuisines around the world to the important health & safety aspects. Una will not only prepare the children’s food each day working from our diverse menus but is also there for parents to order take away food to collect on their way home. Una is also available for outside catering.

Christopher O’Byrne – I.T. Consultant

  • Microsoft certificate in Windows Server 2003 Managing & Maintaining
  • Media NVQ Level 2
  • Media BTEC National Diploma

Chris has five years of I.T. experience and film editing. Chris has even edited film for Rank Film studios! Chris will be supporting the staff and children when needed during the day and supporting us all to develop the ICT area of learning.
